The Specialized Spanish classes are offered through private tutoring; It combines contents of the general Spanishcourse with the student’s individual field. You will receive general Spanish instruction as well as specific terminology and content according to your individual field of interest.The courses provide the professionals the opportunity to considerably improve their knowledge and get to know the professional work field of their fellows in Costa Rica through visits of local institutions.
COURSES AND DAILY SCHEDULEClasses start every Monday and are held from Monday through Friday; you may study from one week to however many weeks you wish.IECR offers two Spanish programs, 4 hours or 6 hours per day, with or without home stay. Depending on the month, classes are offered in the morning and afternoon, or only in the afternoon.PROGRAMS AND DETAILSIECR offers all level of Spanish, from beginners until superior. Although the ages and educational backgrounds of our teachers vary, all of our teachers are extensively trained in IECR methodology and have extensive experience working with each level.ACADEMIC COORDINATIONThe academic coordinator ensures that the methods and programs of IECR are properly implemented. You will be placed in classes according to your Spanish proficiency level, which is determined by a written test and oral interview the first day of classes.Once in class the academic coordinator continues to follow the progress of each student. Throughout your course your progress will be assessed daily by your teacher and our academic director. Every day the instructor hands in a progress report for each student in the class. This information helps our Academic Director determine and decide, along with the student, the steps for reaching his/her language goals.It is a fact that students learn at different speeds – the academic coordinator is responsible for facilitating the learning process and making any necessary class adjustments.ACCOMODATION1.HOMESTAYOur families, all of which are carefully screened and accustomed to hosting foreign students, live within the area of the school so that students may either walk to class each day or take the bus.The host families are patient and extend themselves to help our student learn Spanish. With the families, our participants are totally immersed in the Costa Rican culture and have the opportunity to practice Spanish daily. The family provides participants with breakfast, dinner or lunch as well as laundry service. Our participants have a room of their own.2.APPARTMENTSIf you are not interested in the homestay option, we can offer you two different kinds of apartments.
